2011 Directory Contest

I entered this cartoon in the 2011 Kau Chamber of Commerce contest for the front cover of the Directory. I actually had to leave the house and do some research for this project! Those are real signs that I tried to copy and match the colors. Hana Hou's sign with that fancy font really killed me. I really loath calligraphy. I also had a difficult time with Shaka's sign, too. Some might contend that Kurt Schulz, who lived down the road from us at the time, was the southernmost cartoonist. But he was an illustrator that drew cartoons, not a cartoonist. There's a difference! Unfortunately, I didn't win...
